All the procedures have been designed based on the technology and equipments that were available at the time. After some years these procedures are not optimum anymore and impose heavy costs in long term despite the fact that they were implemented by proper initial costs. Increasing the efficiency of production or service processes is absolutely the most economical way of doing the job in long term.
